Train the Trainer

Train the Trainer in 'Skills for TRM' has been launched.
Trusts or organisations wishing to train and qualify their own staff to deliver TRM training should contact Terema.

The long term goal of any healthcare system should be that best practice in safety should be incorporated in the daily routines of all staff.  Ultimately, team working and the management of Human Factors have to be integrated within Clinical practice and the best people to carry out and support this integration are the front line staff.

With nearly 20 years of development in aviation and a further 7 years in healthcare, Terema programmes distil theory, insight and best practice into coherent packages whose focus is to deliver patient safety.

Using the experience gained in training thousands of clinical staff and further contributions from clinicians in our team, we have adapted the teaching from our 'Partnership for Change' programme so that it can be delivered by healthcare professionals to healthcare professionals.  This programme is called 'Skills for TRM'.  Potential trainers will undertake a comprehensive training programme and will initially deliver training with the support of a Terema trainer before going on to be assessed and accredited.  'Skills for TRM' is delivered under licence from Terema and there are quality assurance measures within the programme to maintain its integrity.      

For Trusts which take patient safety seriously, this will deliver a robust and coherent message to the largest number of staff in the shortest time and in the most cost effective manner.
