Terema and MDDUS
The Medical and Dental Defense Union of Scotland (MDDUS) have a professional interest in reducing risk in healthcare.
In the second Human Factors Masterclass in Glasgow of 2007, 15 senior health professionals from a wide range of disciplines participated in an intensive 2 day training programme on the human aspects of risk management. Since then more than 100 more delegates have undertaken the Masterclass. The feedback gets better and better. In March 2010 a cohort from the Warwick University Safer Clinical Systems team joined international and UK delegates for a Masterclass at Heathrow.
Contact philhigton@terema.co.uk for more details of the November 2010 Masterclass at Heathrow.
Beyond the Masterclasses our shared interest in patient safety let to Terema providing not only the Keynote speakers for the 2010 MDDUS Practice Managers Conference at St Andrews but also two major sessions on managing authority and speaking up.
Comments from participants:
The course has made me explore and change both professional and personal issues, I am pleased to say also I have gained a lot from listening to others attending the course as I realise that we all experience similar issues (and I thought it was just me!). The skills I have learnt from TRM will certainly stay with me.
Thanks again for a rewarding and challenging course!
